my kind of year-end entry

Growing...(and liking it!)

2007 has so far been a great year for me in a whole LOT of ways. If my 2006 was dubbed as the “Acquaintance Party,” my 2007 would undoubtedly have “Growth” as its theme. And though, I couldn't fully recall how I welcomed the recent year the first few days of the year was a remarkable one. How could I possibly forgot having to spend the late hours of the 2nd day of the year to the early dawn of January 3 in an emergency room after coming from a 10 hour ride? That experience surely fueled my year to growth and beyond. Then there was, of course, the fun pyrolympics and Jem's Birthday at Seaside – Good times!February ushered in a nice surprise for me and the rest of 4a's girls as our boys made our Valentine's Day extra special with their lovely surprise of roses and songs. I also got to indulge in going to the theatre and watched “Peter Pan” and Blue Rep's “High School Musical.” March was roller coaster ride. There were cramming for academic requirements leading to fainting and hyperventilation, fun Spanish video shoots, a wedding and of course there were goodbyes(end of school year and theater catalyst's turn-over party). My April was well spent for a meaningful Holy Week and an Easter Sunday on the other side of the city with my family, of course. Then, I (spontaneously) enrolled myself again in Trumpets Musical Theater Intermediate Workshop and got to be with another bunch of wonderful people and teacher. I love how our strictly ten-minute break went, which was either spent at the nearby cream puff station or buying drinking water at Watson's because they were the only ones who were wallet-friendly in Podium. And if we get too hungry after workshops, Mcdo El Pueblo worked for us but I almost always have to run ahead to catch up with the train back home. Then come in May, I had to juggle things so I could keep up with my Internship at Unilab and Workshops but it was all worth it. I totally enjoyed my barely three weeks of Internship and I got to find myself another bunch of wonderful people sharing meals about every four hours a day, abusing our break, non-stop chit-chats, one time bonding at President's and Edsa Shang and etc. Now, who said school work on a summer couldn't be fun? I also flew to Bacolod for my baby cousin Euri's birthday, took a solo flight back to Manila to take part in our successful showcase of “The Girl who was plugged in” and to welcome my new baby – my Macbook.
Barely recovering from a busy May, I attended the 8th Pharmacy Leadership Training Seminar in Laguna. Crawled on mud, joined a mock pageant, swam, and did a whole lot of physical team building activities. The great part of the experience was, of course, growing as a student leader with my co-student leaders. A brief homecoming and a little party in Naga refreshed me and made me ready for my last year in college. It was a month filled with work and fun. It was the jump start for my extra curriclars. It was also the start of my EIC-ing Purple Gazette and VP-ing Theatre Catalyst. There were endless errands to do for the Org Fair and Freshmen Tour. And oh, I got crazy looking for my eyeglasses this time around but needless to say I wasn't able to find it anymore that I had to watch HSM On Stage on my bare eyes, but I enjoyed it just as well.

Whew! That's half a year down. Now on with the second half a little later.
