haircut and recommended sites

Stumbleupon.com is this cool firefox add-on that allows you to pick categories that you’re interested in and then it presents you different sites, pictures, and videos from all over the web that match your interests. Then, you can give stumbleupon’s finds thumbs up or thumbs down so it knows to find more like that particular item. one of my favorite things about stumbleupon is that you can write and read other people’s reviews of the sites that you “stumble” on. anyway, it’s cool. you have to try it to really understand. it’s a great thing when you have some time to kill or only have a short amount of time for a break. one of my new favorite places on the web for sure.Pandora.com

ever since i started using iTunes music player, i couldn’t be less interested in another source of music. then pandora came along and changed everything. i actually “stumbled” upon pandora and remembered reading some really good reviews of it so i thought i’d play around with it. i am hooked. i actually tried to pandora from work today but the damn IT guys seriously block out all the fun stuff. anyway, you basically type in an artist or song that you like and it creates a “radio station” of other songs and artists that are a similar flavor. you get to rate its suggestions and/or skip to the next suggestion. i actually found several new songs to download from only my first visit to this place. anyway, i don’t know if it’s java or flash or what but the interactive animation is to die for. so fun to use! easy on the eyes, ears, and usability. i guess i can’t say enough about this place.
